*Even though your name is not listed reach out to the name you recognize and coordinate for team of 3 to arrive. A lot of forms list just one person as like a placeholder while they scramble to get more.

FIELD LOCATION INSTRUCTIONS

The home team is listed first and the visitor team is listed second for each match.

The home team will be situated on the south or west side of the field, and the visitor will be situated on the north or east side. Spectators must remain on the side of the field designated for their team.

The home team is responsible for: A) providing three (3) game balls for the match;  B) changing jerseys or donning pinnies in the event of a color conflict with the visitor team.

A. All fields will be set up and taken down by the Tournament staff.

B. Trash cans will be provided at each field. Teams will be expected to clean up all trash in their area before leaving. 

C. Please observe the Facility Use Rules while attending the Tournament.

Hello, Coaches!

AYSO Region 14 is proud to invite your team to the 2023 Annual Christmas Classic AYSO Open Invitational Tournament!

Scope:

AYSO Open Invitational – open to AYSO teams from all Sections and Non-AYSO Teams.

When:

Saturday & Sunday, December 16-17, 2023

Where:

The Tournament will be held at the following locations: (1) Columbia Park (4045 190th St, Torrance); (2) LA Galaxy Sports Complex (599 Maple Avenue, Torrance); (3) Anza Elementary School (21400 Ellinwood Dr, Torrance); (4) Jefferson Middle School (21717 Talisman St, Torrance); and (5) Victor Elementary School (4820 Spencer St, Torrance). There is no charge for parking. No pets are allowed at fields.

Who:

AYSO and Non-AYSO boys’ and girls’ teams in age divisions: U-14 (11v11) 15 players max. U-12 (9v9) 12 players max, U-10 (7v7) 10 players max, and U-8 (7v7) 10 players max. All players must have been registered to play in their organizations that just completed in the 2023 primary season. Guest players will be allowed (3 maximum per team). Co-ed teams will be accepted in boys’ divisions only.

What:

Pool-play Tournament. Each team will be guaranteed three (3) games in pool play. The top teams will advance to the medal round on Sunday afternoon. All pool-play games will be as follows: 56 minutes (28 min. halves, 5 min. halftime) for U-14; 50 minutes (25 min. halves, 5 min. halftime) for U-12; 50 minutes (25 min. halves, 5 min. halftime) for U-10; and 40 minutes (20 min. halves, 5 min. halftime) for U-8.

Why:

The 2023 Annual Christmas Classic AYSO Open Invitational Tournamentis being conducted as a fundraiser by Region 14 to raise funds for field development, equipment, and maintenance, and further provide scholarship funds for youths in Region 14.

Awards:

All players and two (2) coaches per team will receive a Tournament beanie and pin. All players on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4thplace teams will receive a trophy or medal.

Entry Fee, Refunds:

$475 for U-14, $450 for U-12, $425 for U-10, and $375 for U-8. A full refund will be issued if the Tournament is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled. If a team withdraws thirty (30) or more days before the Tournament, a full refund is given. Within thirty (30) days of the Tournament, no refund is provided unless a replacement team is found.

Referee Deposit, Refunds:

$300 for U-10, U-12, and U-14, and $150 for U-8, refundable within fourteen (14) days of the Tournament if referee assignments have been completed. Each team is asked to provide a qualified 3-person referee team to cover three (3) games during the Tournament. Partial refunds will be given based upon the number of game slots completed.

Rules:

A full set of the Tournament rules are posted on the Tournament website. In the event that the information here is in conflict with the Tournament rules, the information here supersedesthe respective conflicting Tournament rule.

Acceptance:

The application deadline is December 1, 2023. All teams will be notified within forty-eight (48) hours of the application deadline or receipt of application (whichever is latest) as to their status. Teams that are not accepted will be given the option to have their complete application returned or to be placed on the waiting list.

How:

Team entry applications and all necessary forms are available on the Tournament website.
Please send one (1) Region / Organization check to cover both the Team Entry and Referee fees, along with the referee information form, andteam roster generated by the Sports Connect system to the Tournament Registrar address below. Make region or organization account check payable to:AYSO Region 14.
